My son’s elementary school went from kindergarten through 6th grade (approximately ages 5-11). In 6th grade, the boys still looked like little boys, but the girls looked like full-grown teenagers!

I was a little girl when that movie came out. I loved it – until the Nazis appeared. I never wanted to see that movie again.

How about new-cue-ler instead of new-clee-er (for nuclear)? Or preventative instead of preventive? They were both wrong when I was in school, but now even news reporters use them. Luckily, my schools also taught me that language evolves as people use it.

God had better forgive all of us. After all, He’s the one who made us all unable to achieve the perfection He demands.

Man is God’s highest creation?! If someone like us created us, I’d be impressed. But with God’s knowledge, power, and standards of perfection, He made an awful lot of mistakes – and some of them are huge. I’m not impressed.

And to dust you shall return.Depending on our personalities, it’s very hard for some of us to feel significant – even when we’re compared only with other human beings. These feelings don’t relate to our actual significance to others.

Lizzie looks really cute, happy with the costume, AND (Listening Mom?) neither in her comic life nor in real life did she grow up to be a punk rocker!

I love it!When I was a kid, my whole family raked the leaves onto a big old blanket. Then one of us kids would get into the middle of the leaf pile, and my father would pick up the blanket by its corners, swing it over his shoulder, and carry it to the vegetable garden – where kid and leaves were (carefully) dumped. At the end of each night, we would light a fire & watch the leaves burn – adding nutrients to next year’s garden soil. I loved it!I still love leaf season, even though the job has been reduced to stuffing the leaves into a big paper leaf bag.

I loved “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, though it may be too gentle for some. The groom is played by John Corbett (who played the radio station announcer on “Northern Exposure” – for those who can remember that far back).

As long as they don’t get too pushy about enforcing it, it’s nice when both people can think they’re “the boss”. It works best when each boss is comfortable enough to give the other person their choice, at least half of the time.
