I enjoyed the various story lines. It dealt with real life issues, from cancer to suicide to traumatic brain injury, PTSD, etc. Sometimes these issues are "the elephant in the room " that no one wants to mention, let alone discuss. There were story arcs that I would read that I might not have liked, but that can be said of other strips too. Not every comic strip is enjoyed by everyone. But if I truly didn’t care for the direction it was taking, I would have just stopped reading it and found another strip. I work in the medical field, and I can’t tell you the amount of people that try to tell me how to do my job, or “how difficult can it be”, when they know nothing about it. I imagine writing new and freh material for a comic strip would be similar. I’m not going criticize someone for doing their job, when I don’t have a clue how difficult it can be.
I enjoy this strip and Funky Winkerbean. I’m not trying to start something, but if all people want to do is criticize it, why are you reading it? There are strips I don’t care for and so I don’t follow them. It’s that simple.
Hit the nail on the head!! There are very few decent TV shows or movies anymore. If you can’t curse, get naked, blow something or someone up, or delve into the occult, then you can’t be an actor!
I agree that all children are inherently selfish. But with loving training from parents all children can be taught to care about others and be selfless. Unfortunately today many adults still exhibit the selfish traffic children because they were not trained to care.
I was raised by my grandparents and don’t recall ever being told I would bite or hit. I was spanked a total of twice growing up. My grandfather disciplined by reasoning with (usually with the Bible) and explaining in a way that I would understand. I never hated them or felt unloved. I miss them both terribly at times but I’m grateful for the love and training. Those are things children are missing today.
But even toddlers can be taught, and understand, right from wrong, acceptable and unacceptable behavior. That’s part of the problem with young people today,,, there’s never any consequences for their actions!
Thank you for being the voice of reason!
