Been working with EMP over the years. Almost anything with current day electronics will be dead. Old model cars, tube type radios and stuff that you have protected in a Faraday cage will usually survive. And, no, airplanes won’t fall out of the sky but expressways will become parking lots.
An EMP situation is definitely not if but when. As a radio operator I deal with sunspots regularly. They can help or hinder communications. The BIG problem is that any country or terrorist group could bring on an EMP attack and our country would be down the drain for MANY years. Lots of folks would die. You can prepare for EMP and you can survive. Just takes planning and preparation - which this country is not doing.
I have solar backup. Works great. Power went out during Hurricane Matthew. Had lights, heat and the appliances all worked. We are not off grid but have the solar for emergencies. Also a backup generator (uses fuel) and wood heat (insert) if needed. We use the backup generator to help our neighbors with their freezers and refrigerators. It doesn’t take much to have a basic solar backup package and its well worth the time and investment.
Ah yes, 3AM and Daisy and BeepBeep decide to chase around the house. Wake up the dogs and chase them and then wake everyone else up -— and then go back to bed while everyone else is awake. Just gotta love em.
I get the feeling that Toni will straighten out a bunch of stuff in the near future.
