When I opened the replies to Robin’s frankly obtuse and unnecessary comment, I expected to see arguing; it was a nice surprise to see you all sharing your heritages. My parents are very deep into family history, and I think it’s wonderful to know where your roots are and to appreciate and be proud of your heritage; the problem comes, as Dewsolo said, when one decides that one’s heritage is “better” than that of others. We ought to celebrate our diversity; after all, it is the root of our strength.

I used to play marimba, and they definitely don’t go bong. Not sure if I agree with brang, either, though… more of a tonk, maybe.

Things chew just as well when they’re broken as when they’re whole. Might even be easier.

Seriously, it’s incredible to see how badly people misunderstand the point of #metoo. This is exactly why it was necessary — because when women speak up, they’re mocked and ignored.

I don’t recall ever being forced to dress up for this sort of thing. The high school I went to always had enough students not dressed up for it not to be noticeable when people didn’t; spirit week was very popular, too, since we had uniforms and the students liked being able to dress in something different and creative.
