Yeah they do. Oh there are rumors and then your boss gets the order to tell us to stop listening to gossip and rumors, and then you come in on a Monday and boom. I once was laid off with three months notice though. They gave me a bonus if I stayed to the end, which I did. Took a couple of months off working after that because I could. Interestingly enough, interviewing later some people had a problem with someone taking a couple of months off without even looking for a job. We are a twisted society in some respects.
HR’s primary functions:Secure the least expensive (to the company) benefits, keep employees from suing the company, make up ridiculous corporate jargon.
Adults do the same thing. They hear about an increase in something and start moaning before they bother taking in that it is phased in over a number of years and will have minimal impact. We have become a sound bite/headline nation who don’t go beyond that to get to the rest of, and most crucial part of the story before we are up in arms. John for once is right. Ignorance is not bliss. Teens are emotional and don’t tend to ask questions. As we know, Mike wants to become a writer. If he writes for a newspaper he better start getting used to finding out the “5 W’s” – who, what, where, when and why. Honestly, it’s good practice for anyone who wants to live an informed life and avoid protesting stuff that isn’t happening,
Presumably they raised Mike to stand up for what he thinks is right and try and change what he thinks is wrong. So now that he is doing so, what is John so bent about? Or are the Patterson’s the sort of parents who only think they want independent thinkers until one of the kids thinks independently?
When I was helping my nephew with his common core math he told me that although my answer was right, I got it “the wrong way” so the correct answer would be marked wrong. So…
I had a sturdy, metal Radio Flyer wagon. You could drag a whole lot of stuff around in those. They were well made and took a lot of abuse. Kids used them for everything.
