Gough Whitlam had some pretty good political jokes.
To steal from Wikiquote:
“When Sir Winton Turnbull [who represented a large rural seat], a slow and sometimes stumbling speaker, was raving and ranting on the adjournment and shouted: “I am a Country member”. I interjected “I remember”. Sir Winton could not understand why, for the first time in all the years he had been speaking in the House, there was instant and loud applause from both sides."

Those political clowns manage to get air time on Colbert, Kimmel, Fallon.
Then those jokers have their political debates.
Those jokers are constantly in our face. Is there a wonder why there is a fear of clowns?

Political humor is fine where appropriate, the cartoon today opens the door so go nuts
I do get annoyed when someone tries to go political where politics is not present, like Garfield or Marmaduke
