Interesting, Utah just approved a new flag to take effect in 2024. The flag it is replacing is a 2011 refresh of the 1913 design. Thanks Jonathan; I didn’t realize that flags were changing until I saw your comic.
When I was a teacher I used to have students create flags as assignments, not posters. The flag could NOT be on paper or cardboard. Many were painted on cloth or burned on to wood. I even had one kid paint his flag on a brick. I had one boy, as redneck as could be, actually KNIT a small flag. Over the years we got creative with what we called a “flag”. The kids made flags on all kinds of topics. The Trail of Tears, Viking exploration, Women’s Suffersge, Abolition of Slavery were some of the best. And of course recreations of historic flags.
I always made sure to fly each kid’s flag. The kids loved to see them displayed. Well, except for the brick. It ended up a doorstop.
