I believe that it is alliteration only if the beginning sounds of words are alike. I still recall the lines from Tennyson that were used in one of my high school classes to illustrate alliteration:
I slip, I slide, I gloom, I glance,
Among my skimming swallows
Need to be in some sort of new jail

Shel Silverstein, the Great:
“I saw an ol’ gnome
Take a gknock at a gnat
Who was gnibbling the gnose of his gnu?
I said, ‘Gnasty gnome,
Gnow, stop doing that.
That gnat ain’t done gnothing to you.’
He gnodded his gnarled ol’ head and said,
“‘Til gnow I gnevergnew
That gknocking a gnat
In the gnoodle like that
Was gnot a gnice thing to do.”
Always avoid alliteration.
You seem to have rhyming and assonance mixed up with alliteration.
We learned the classic example of alliteration in third grade (but not from the teacher): “Great green gobs of greasy, grimy gopher guts…”
I dare you to Say that three times fast.
Those are examples of internal rhyme, not alliteration.
That’s not alliteration; that’s assonance.
According to “Day By Dave” it’s National Pun Day.
I’d call it Cynghanedd, and I’m not even Welsh!
