It causes me concern when someone says ‘can I axe you a question?’ or ‘let me axe you a question?’.I don’t know whether they are uneducated, dyslexic, or just plain “south of 45”.Or do they really want to axe me.

We need a way to show that we are being sarcastic on here…….The regulars know each other, but new names may not and we may not know theirs.

Regarding ax: believe it or not, actually correct, as an archaic form of ask according to the OED.

bmonkLizzy was framed (and acquitted). The maid who probably did it was having an affair with the prosecutor – as well as not wanting to give other near-slave domestics ideas.
