You’re right, vzs1022, $11 for a popcorn and a small soda is not nice at all.
The problem is that most of the cinema ticket price goes to renting & licensing the actual film reels from the studio distributors, and the rest goes to box office & projection booth staff, with the ticket prices set by the franchise parent company – if the theater owner wants to do better than break even, he has to overcharge grossly at the snack bar. Trust me, Supersurfer, this guy already charges as much for snacks as he can get away with
