In today’s retail, they would still take it back. And the clerk would be fired for being rude.

Walmart has a decent return policy. I just don’t see this any more, anywhere really.

Too bad you don’t see it everywhere. People buy something; use it and when the job is done they return it. We end up paying for it in higher prices. I have a friend that owns a hardware store. Every fall people buy chain saws, cut their winter wood and then try to return them. When they say Walmart would take it back, He tells them to buy it at Walmart next time.
