My first car was a Chevette. No AC, no power steering, no ant-lock brakes, and I hated it. But when my kids began driving, I wished I’d kept that car. It was easy to fix, made out of steel, and safer than the plastic car that my son was in an accident with. He was fine, but the car was totaled. I had a similar accident with my Chevette, and both the car and I were fine. The car had some dings and dents, but it was still driveable.

When I was a kid nobody could afford a Schwinn. I don’t know where they were able to sell them.
