My son started a new job one week before the office closed for COVID and everyone had to work from home. This fall they finally required employees to come back to the office at least two days a week. He had no idea where his new office (he’d been promoted twice during the pandemic) was and had never met his supervisor in person. It was a very strange time for him.
My office never closed. Some people worked remotely (some still do), but many people kept coming into work throughout, though we had to wear masks at our workstations. The strange thing was when the masks started coming off, and you realized what some of those new hires looked like without a mask. It’s amazing how your mind fills in the lower half of a person’s face, even when you can’t see it!
If you run into the same person twice, you say “Hello again.” If you run into the same person three times, you laugh and say “Looks like we’re on the same schedule!” If you run into the same person MORE than three times, you’re free to say “Quit following me!”

If you start in the morning you say ‘Good Morning’
If you start around noon, you say ‘Hi’
If you start in the evening, you don’t say ‘Shit’
