This is just his way of keeping the house from looking like an Ikea showroom.

I never volunteer to put furniture together. I mean, I end up doing it, but I never volunteer.

For what they charge, it’s ridiculous to force us to finish assembling their products. They should be paying us for the time it takes us to do it. About $30 an hour seems about right, with future adjustments for inflation, of course.

I built mine from scratch. Got out of the service and had some used stuff to start. Went looking for new stuff and wow, the prices. Learned to make my own. Made 4 cabinets for the price of ONE and just as good as far as I’m concerned. Now there are Restore stores. The prices are amazingly affordable. They are Home for Habitat outlets. Used but in great shape.

The 3 little words that strike terror into the hearts of people: some assembly required.

A guy should be allowed to assemble the product before buying. He’ll find out if it’s quality stuff or junk quickly enough.

I love putting that stuff together. It’s like a puzzle!
