Now that the logo is recognizable Sherwin Williams will be changing it; the younger marketers never now when they had a good thing until after they change it.

That sign brought back memories. .@observer: every time the self proclaimed geniuses, especially “the suits” get a great idea it goes wrong. They can’t resist messing with a good thing.

Actually sold some of their products way back when. As memory serves me, they got their start at the end of the US Civil War…

When I was little there was stretch long 95th street that contained a shoe store, a luncheonette, and a Sherwin-William’s store. I remember sitting in the old Buick. looking up at that sign and wondering why anyone thought making such a mess was something to be proud of. Fifty-five years later, I STILL look at some ads and think the same thing. ;-)

That logo use to make me uncomfortable as a kid! Like most people, I saw thick blood coating the world! (very metal!)

I’ve been driving one of those blue S-W trucks for 10 years now . That logo is one of the ten oldest in the world

Rover’s skeptical one-eye-open glance in the first panel is priceless.
