Our little Pinscher-Terrier, Gizmo, was taught to stay within the borders of our property and for the most part she would never set a paw in the neighbor’s yard or the street! That’s not to say she wouldn’t test me from time to time when I was out with her on the lawn.
I would watch her head to one of the borders or the curb, place one paw into the DMZ, then turn and look at me as if she was saying, “I wonder if he will say anything?”
Of course, she wasn’t disappointed as my answer to her silent question was always, “Gizmo No!” and she would quickly pull the paw and turn back into the lawn…
