Love the pretzel Goldfish, and the rainbow ones were favorites of our kids they all tasted the same but 3 girls who all have different favorite colors, made it easier to divvy up a bag. If you can still find the yellow cheese ones try using them instead of croutons in tomato bisque or split pea soup.
Was wondering if this is period-correct so I looked up the history of Goldfish. They were created in 1958 and introduced into the US in 1962, so indeed they were around in Red’s time of about 1970. I was a kid then but don’t remember them.
the best thing is to find the ones a bit bubbled up in the middle and enjoy the crunch with your front teeth. They are like little edible toys. To eat them mindlessly is to waste them. That is what potato chips are for.
I remember Goldfish crackers. They were OK, but I was never much for snacking on things except fruit. My in-laws used to have them available when we played cards at their house. That and other carbohydrate snacks. I would eat a couple just to make them believe that I liked them. The snacks, that is.

Dogs don’t usually eat fish. That’s cat food.

We always had apples for snacks. “Mom, I’m hungry.” “Have an apple!”
