Guilty, had a pair and they weren’t no Air Jordan’s.
Hey, how about if our current Olympic wore them this summer in Japan? Don’t think that would work out to well! But, Probably would start a new fad in Japan! Ha
Got my first pair as a kid and immediately laced them up and went tearing down the sidewalk expecting flames to come shooting out the backs! It seems the advertising jingle (see above) may have been a bit exaggerated…
I remember long ago, when my first dog (a cockerpoo, I think) used to chase squirrels. She was kind of old and used to see the squirrels on the back porch and bark to go out. I would open the door, the squirrel would jump off the porch and wander over to the tree while the dog ran down the steps to chase it. It would then climb the tree and be up to the first branch by the time the dog got to the tree. THEN we got a new dog. A much younger dog (not quite a year old). She was a beagle/corgi mix. When she saw the squirrel, she jumped off the back porch without going down the steps, practically on top of the squirrel. It did NOT like that and took off like a shot! We never had squirrels on our porch much after that. :o) As soon as they heard HER bark, they were GONE!
When I was a kid, it seems there was only one kind of tennis shoe…the black canvas with a white sole. I’m not sure if they were PF Flyers but I remember them too.
