About two weeks ago, I remembered the Wimpy Bars that we had in the UK. Yesterday, I visited Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK, and found that there is still a Wimpy Bar there. The Wimpy Bars are hamburger bars named after the character from the Popeye strip and animated cartoons. I wrongly stated that they were taken over by Burger King in the 1980s. I now know that many Wimpy Bars were taken over by Burger King but some of them are still Wimpy Bars.
