Chocolate is toxic to dogs so Red and Rover are having a non-Toxic relationship.

What no doggie treats in the slots?

A very important thing for all dog owners to know! If it weren’t for the internet, I would not have known that! I’m truly grateful!

You could fill it with milk bones.

Strange but true, cocaine and chocolate are only one C-H-O molecule away from each other chemically. In dogs, chocolate metabolizes as cocaine would in humans.

Bring on the Milky Bones!

Love Rover’s tongue hanging out in anticipation in panel 3! A few licks of chocolate shouldn’t hurt him because of his size, whereas it could be very bad for a little pup. But I’m sure Rover would have appreciated a few doggie treats. (I found heart-shaped treats for Newton.)

I had a goldie-mix that ate almost two pounds of chocolate chips that my then GF left on the sofa. ER time, but he did live. There might have been some brain damage, but with goldies how would you know?

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY dearest Red and Rover

Our family went out to see Fargo, a fine family film. When we got back, the dog had gotten into the Easter chocolate, and threw it up in the hall.

Couple folks I know learned the hard way that cocoa shells are not a good mulch when one has dogs. One dog died from eating the cocoa shells; the other suffered ill health the rest of his shortened life.

It’s the thought that counts ….. Rover ….. and Red ….. probably the stomach ache you’re going to have in awhile for eating that “WHOLE” box of chocolates …. ;)
