My Brother, Cousins and I never did any of those things as kids and we stayed in the woods when we were not working around the farm. Turned out just fine.
Kids want to have fun while parents want them to be safe. Red’s mom is thinking about potential dangers but isn’t concerned about Red and Rover exploring alone in the woods. Sadly, the childhood that many of us experienced is gone.
Darn, got here late today. Just rub dirt on it, we never had a problem. But, now a days , ticks are a huge problem! We once picked over 70 ticks off of Rugby. My wife was freaking out. Immediately had him tested.
Very few kids did those on their own. Mom is preparing the emergency kit as we speak. Calamine, Bactine, Band-Aids a jug of lemonade and a big sandwich. All wrapped in a big blanket of TLC.

I think we’re going to have a Timmy fell in a well moment.

You might want to rethink this one, Red…especially the part about bug repellent!

Rover knows the score, even if Red is clueless.

Rover may be thinking about ticks. Or if he is part Lab, no lunch.

How’d he manage to pull off his escape after all those “no’s?” Millions of helicoptered kids would love to know.

Part of the fun of exploring in the woods is making unwise choices.
