Mikey! I vote for Mikey! He’s about as fictional as they get.

They all are very deserving, but Shermie does it for me.

One of them is not fictional, and it’s not the plain-bellied sneech.

Actually, the jester’s name was Rick. People were always greeting him with “Yo! Rick!” Where are their gibes now?

The Sneetch needs to be disqualified though – at this point it’s impossible to say if he was a plain-bellied one to start with.

Amazing. He hit it on the vast conspirator, which resulted in a bunch of sad clowns.

I was gonna vote for Spock, but then I realized he didn’t make the list. :(

In seriousness, I’d go with Hamlet. His influence had lasted 400 years when this was written (and expanded from England throughout the world) and will likely last 400 more (and if we move beyond Earth, Hamlet will go with us).

All Western literature before Hamlet laid the groundwork for it, and all literature thereafter (including Jane Austen and Peanuts) is a reaction to it.

Emmanuelle I was a book of the 70s and the movie was of the 80s. Neither of them were any good.

Remembering he is to be considered representative of the entire Second Millennium, I’d have to vote, reluctantly, for Snap. The Years from 1001 through 2000 were so full of snappery!
