Rip Haywire by Dan Thompson for July 17, 2013
Transcript:
Breezy: Cobra, what you've told me changes everything! Cobra: Not only do Rip and I have a kid, but he dumped me barely a year into our marriage. Breezy: He - he's a divorce!? Cobra: Not a dime in alimony either... which is why I had to become a pirate queen. Breezy: Oh, you poor dear! Cobra: Hey, let's not get huggy. Just concentrate on how you hate Rip now.
I thought she was wearing short shorts when Cobra came in; I too was wondering what prompted her to change her outfit. And I hope Breezy remains naive. I mean, everyone in this strip personifies an extreme – T.J.‘s the reliably consistent coward, Breezy’s the quintessence of innocence, Cobra’s the relentlessly seductive femme fatale, Rip’s the indefatigable hero. And Dan’s the creator of the best written, best drawn, and best colored comic strip to come along since Calvin and Hobbes. Just thought I’d toss that in there.
