Hurricane Katrina's storm surge picked up Harvey Shows in his boat, tossing them through a casino, washing both unhurt, hundreds of yards inland! When Charles Hall invented the modern waterbed in 1968, he was refused a patent because the concept had appeared 7 years earlier in a science fiction novel! It took Brian Fugere of San Francisco, Calif., several days, but to raise money for cancer research, he jogged over 26 miles inside a hospital, doing laps around the ward while towing his chemotherapy IV bag!
