This shows how the iron rod penetrated the skull of Phineas Gage. On Sept. 13, 1848, in Cavendish, VT, USA, an explosion drove a 3.5 foot long iron rod through the skull of railroad worker Phineas Gage, blinding one eye and changing his temperament- yet he lived another 12 years in good health! Both parallelograms are the same shape and size! Good thing it's extinct! And extinct species of snake, which lived in Colombian jungles 58 million years ago, could reach the lengths of 42 feet- longer than a bus!
