George Lamson Jr. was the only survivor of a Jan. 21, 1985, plane crash in Reno, Nev., USA. He was thrown from the crash and landed- still attached to his seat- in the middle of a highway! Bart Weetjens, a Dutch Buddhist monk living in Africa, has taught rats to detect the explosives in land mines! Quaking aspen trees typically aren't individual free-standing trees. They are all clones that grow from a shared network of roots, which can live for tens of thousands of years!
