Supposedly, there was a building in Buffalo, years ago, that also had “Welcome to Cleveland” on its roof. I guess that pranksters know there’s just something about Cleveland that causes people to become alarmed.
Bob Beamon’s world record jump of 29 feet, 2 1/2 inches at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City was one of the most amazing athletic feats of all time. He broke the previous world record by nearly two feet!
He did have nearly everything in his favor that day. Mexico City is at an altitude of 7,382 feet, which lowered wind resistance. He had a tail wind of 2 cm/second, the maximum allowable amount for a legal jump.
Of course, that makes Mike Powell’s record breaking jump even more remarkable, since he did it without wind assistance and at sea level, but Beamon’s jump is still the second longest legal jump ever.

Allie should not have named her dog after a horse; everyone knows the dog should have been named “Bullet”! Live and learn . . . or at least remember.

What a great idea, Mr Gubin. And they can’t make you take it down without violating your right to free speech. Genius.
