Transcript:
Dutch carpenter Johan Huibers built a life-size replica of Noah's Ark according to the measurements found in the book of Genesis. It's 410 feet long, 95 feet wide and 75 feet tall! It still works! The Museum of English Rural Life, in Reading, England, discovered a recently deceased mouse inside a 155-year-old mousetrap that was on display! Just 1000 words make up 90 percent of all writing.

Eivdently one thing Johan did not know is how to sail a boat. as soon as he launched ii on his maiden cruise (a couple of weeks ago) Johan’s Ark collided with a Coast Guard vessel doing major damage to both craft.

The Ark isn’t a full size replica. It is ½ the length & 40% of the width.
It is still an impressive sight though! Have been in it when it came to Rotterdam.

“The world” as the ancients knew it was a very small place indeed. They didn’t even know of the Romans at that time, so the idea of collecting one of each species known in a small section of the African continent didn’t seem undo-able.

I must say I’m surprised at the 1000 figure; I had the figure 3000 in mind as an average everyday vocabulary. Actually, having looked up the reference Ripley is right! See this article. But this is an exponential curve, based on word frequency.
