41 years after losing touch with her French penpal Yvette Metay, Sue Alice, of Staffordshire, England, found out they lived just one mile apart! Twelfth-century Japanese Emperor Sutoku, over the course of three years, used his own blood to copy a 10,500 word Buddhist sutra. The combination of rain and a dirt court prevented dribbling at the US vs Canada men's basketball game during the 1936 Berlin Olympics, resulting in a low final score of 19-8.

When I was in Navy boot camp I got to comparing notes with a chap I met. Turned out we had been best buds in first grade and he had moved away the next summer. But I wouldn’t consider that newsworthy.

I guy I ran around with after high school was in the same city as I, 1500 miles from home. Found out about it when I ran across his obituary.
