I’m impressed with the clothes pin. Granite is not that easy to carve.

Does the clothespin work?

Google search “jack crowell grave stone” to see Jack’s grave stone. When I initially looked at the drawing it looked like it could almost be a functioning clothespin, but the gap between the two halves behind the spring is really just solid granite that’s recessed and in shadow. On closer examination of the drawing and compared to other pics on the interwebs, it’s a pretty subtle detail that I see now…

That’s not a perfectly shaped heart pattern, that’s the shape people use to represent an actual heart.

and they only have to have somebody come by twice a week to “trim” the calf to look like that.
