Early aviation. Something from the annals of my family history. My father’s sister soloed in 1927 at the age of 18, and on that first solo flight upset her instructor by doing two loops and a tailspin (on purpose I might add.) It was really a pretty good prank, actually.
Unbeknownst to him she had taken stunt flying lessons from an instructor in California while visiting relatives, but hadn’t soloed because the air field in California was more difficult to land on than her home field. So when she got back, she was ready for her big prank, and successfully pulled it off.
A true story, Believe It or Not. I’m guessing her instructor didn’t need more than 20 seconds, if you catch my drift.
