Caution: Epazote oil is toxic; never use it. The herb performs as stated. Too much of the herb can cause nasty side effects, but by the time you’ve added that much, the dish is usually too nasty to eat. Some curanderas recommended epazote to bring on early abortions. If you’re pregnant, do avoid its use.
Ford’s successor, .President Jimmy Carter, was probably too uptight and squeaky clean to pass gas in public. Remember how disciplined he must have been in that regard when serving on submarines in the Navy!
Show some…class? So THAT’S why the Gerald R. Ford “class” is an “aircraft” carrier, huh? I take the “Liberty” to claim, that must have been in the time before there was a dog in the White House to be blamed…
Some scientists think that it took a long time for humans to become mostly lactose tolerant—-not until cows had been under domestication for thousands of years. Neandertals were probably lactose intolerant.
When aircraft got more automated and reduced the number of operators in the cockpit from Captain, First Officer and Navigator to Pilot, Co-pilot I asked an aviation engineer what was the major difference. He replied “With two people in the cockpit you know who farted.”
A visiting dignitary was visiting the royal stables with Queen Elizabeth when one of the horses passed gas noisily. The dignitary said “I’m sorry” to the queen. The queen replied, “If you hadn’t said anything, I would have thought it was one of the horses.”
My 1st wife’s hometown was stricken with “Beaver Fever”. Giardia, spread by beavers who lived in the city’s reservoirs. Quite a few people got seriously sick back in the 70’s. My wife had a “I survived Beaver Fever” t shirt and I was really wondering what that was. Heh heh heh, I said “beaver”.
When i worked for a contact lens manufacturer in the 80’s,we were ready to introduce our version of a gas permeable lens and were in a meeting to come up with our unique trade name! Many suggestions came up but were soon dismissed so I said “this lens will allow oxygen to pass through the matrix of the lens and subsequently carbon dioxide to pass back through the lens…right”? They all agreed and so I continued if it allows gasses to pass through the lens, why don’t we call it “Flatulens”? After some snickers they all said “NO” in unison!
Giardia is another name for Beaver Fever – I went to school for a few years in a mountain town where there was Giardia outbreak several years prior – the tap water was so overly chlorinated, my clothes faded and coffee made with it tasted disgusting.
A bigger issue back in Pres. Ford’s day was not gas, but oil. Plus some people were upset he didn’t kick recently resigned Pres. Nixon’s bu* *, but gave him a pass instead.

Apparently, it’s possible to overdose on the components of epazote, so don’t get too carried away trying to be polite.

The first time I heard of Beaver Fever was on Ren & Stimpy. I just thought it was something the writers made up. Apparently not.

Gerald Ford was the son of Leslie Lynch King, Sr. after all. It’d be silly if he “learned” those manners from him.
