Ironically, the US bill that gets counterfeited the most, I presume, is the one with Franklin’s picture on the front.

Not too many years ago, US currency was redesigned with watermarks and asymmetric elements to make counterfeiting more difficult.

Counterfeiting was much easier in the US back in the early 1800s, with the proliferation of fly-by-night state banks whose paper currency was not widely known across large regions.

Counter fits are quite common at Denny’s.
