The idea of lawns is that they show off the fact that you have so much land and labour power available that you can afford to invest large portions of it for absolutely no reason. Gardens are similar, although a lot more expensive, and those would at least often be open to portions of the public.

Arnold Schwarzenegger repaired a utility trench, not a pothole, officials say

It seems that wasting has always been a status symbol. It casts the impression that you’re so well off, you’re unconcerned about money.

Well, they seem way to unaware of laws to claim much of anything right after they’re born.

Take care, may relentless dandelion Fmpt “We Will Inherit The Earth” Mflk" be with you, and gesundheit.

Unless you want to pay taxes in the US when you grow up, do not claim US citizenship…lol

Such a situation of a baby being born in mid air is quite rare. Airlines try to prevent pregnant women more than 7 months along from boarding for just such reasons.

I’ve heard that in China there are “citizen flights” offered to expecting mothers so they can visit the USA and hopefully deliver here to claim dual citizenship.

And then use the US citizenship to spy on the US and deliver information to the PLA.

And lawns have become a bane of environmentalists, for the environmental costs of water, chemical use, fertilizer production, and lack of support for insects.

I remember a deep puddle up the street from our house, caused by large maple leaves covering the drain. The guy who lived right by it kept calling the city, with no response. So finally after a few days, my wive went down there with rubber boots and a rake, and showed him how it was done. Took 30 seconds.

Of course, this didn’t waken him to the political reality that the city is not there to serve him; the city exists to tax him. We eventually moved out of Portland.

When a baby is born in a plane, it must be tricky to determine the time of birth.

Which is worse, snakes on a plane, or babies on a plane?

My dad did some med-evac flying for USAF. He had a patient die while they were in the air. He had to say what state they were flying over in his log book and other paperwork. Not sure if it went on the death cert.
