I never heard of a shipment of bananas sinking.

No wonder Harry Belafonte complained about working on a banana boat.

I recently needed to be on a BRAT diet (“Bananas, Rice, Apple sauce, Toast”), but once the antibiotic kicked in everything is now much better except for all those pesky questions from the board of health nurse.

My father told me that eating a banana or two before leaving shore was a method to prevent seasickness. He was taught this as a young boy by some old salt.

So, how were bananas transported.

I think Johnathan is just making things up. I’ve worked on boats for over half my life and I’ve never heard of bananas being bad luck. Pigs? Yes. Whistling? Yup. But not bananas.

If bringing bananas on a boat is bad luck, how do they get shipped?
