Hmph. There’s two feet of snow on our garden, with 30% to 70% probability of freezing rain and snow from today through Tuesday. And a huge x-ray event occurred on the sun recently which could create auarora as far south as northen California, with the possibility of interrupted radio communcations.
Sometimes you see Hasenpfeffer half-anglicized to “Hassenpfeffer”, under the mistaken belief that the “ss” is from an esset (the german beta character used for double s). Not so. Hase, “hare”., has the plural Hasen. The old word Hasenpfeffer has more of a connotation of “bunny with pepper”.
Or as the King in the Bugs Bunny cartoon pronounced it: "HAWSENFFEFFFAWWW !! Used to love hearing that. Royal Brits sound so astute when speaking. Donch ya’ll think?
