Yep, that works. Years ago I was tired of being in the middle of workplace drama so I vowed to never pass on gossip. Of course, I didn’t mind hearing the gossip but it always stopped at me. It was grand! I was both privy to the gossip without being part of the gossip. My therapist taught me that and it’s served me well for years.

I have taken the stance of, if I can’t say it in front of the person, I won’t say it. I also warn people that I may want to “confirm” gossip with the source.

Entire Gossip Industry? Oh what will the the gossip rags do with support of their industry; they would have to go back and print fictional stories.

When people would start the conversation with “Did you hear?” I would respond, “Nope and I’m not going to start now.” and that would promptly end the conversation.

I grew up in a very small town. You want gossip? If you sneezed everybody in town had heard about it within 20 minutes.

“Gossip Industry”? Oh, you mean the “If it bleeds, it leads” news media.

I need to print this one out and post it in the break room.

Listen to all, believe little, repeat none.

Works the same way with Republicans; let’s hope it catches on.

I love when people start gossip. I say, “Wait, let me call (the person being talked about), they may want to hear this.” The shock on their face and gasp is worth noting.
