Excellent rules for both parents and grandparents to remember. Also for teachers. But also do remember to teach the little ones to clean up after themselves … ;) That’s how to teach them to be careful and clean up as they go. My 39-year daughter still has not learned this lesson!
I teach a lot of quilting and other crafts’ classes. The phrase I ALWAYS share with my students is “creative deviations.” Such inclusions most often make the end product “one of a kind” “hand-crafted” masterpieces.
There was a gingerbread house ‘workshop’ at the local library over the weekend. Anyone was welcome, 4 to 94. Messy and creative were the lodestones for the event. Oh, and fun!

And don’t grin TOO evilly when you bite a snow-person’s head off!

But at least one gets to nibble the ‘mistakes’ until they look right.

Given MeeMaw’s talents I am only surprised she doesn’t have a gingerbread version of either Saint Peter’s Basilica or the Sistine Chapel
