stillwillc – Mocha invariably would go up the pull-down stairs to the attic and then there would be ‘is he in the attic’, ‘where is he’, and the great hunt to catch him and lug him down the stairs. Picked him up one day, went down to the last three stairs and tossed him. That was the last time he tried to get in the attic. Please no rant or raves. NO he was not hurt. NO it was not cruel. ‘NO’ said sharply and loudly had never worked. This was a last resort. The toss was less than the height of the bed and it worked. He now ignores the stairs when they are lowered.

A good spot for some reflective thinking.

with all that open space, it would be a great place for Peekaboo to nap without having to bother any of the other members of the family!

Seems the old saws about cats and their curiosity still get a listen.

Reminds me of Pilsner, the parrot in Monty, who also can’t comprehend the concept of mirrors…

Had a Peke (Pekinese, not peekaboo) that would growl and bark at the “Other” dog if he walked past a mirror at his level.

We have spent evenings searching opened rooms and spaces looking for the missing cat.
