Actually, a rodent messing with a night predator owl would be the equivalent of a human poking a hungry bear with a very short and sharp stick. Be afraid. Oh yes, be VERY afraid….
I think the hole is small enough for the squirrel to squeeze through, but too small for the owl to get through. Or, at least that is what the squirrel is counting on.
