I once had a cat that hated dogs, I don’t know why but she did. She was a tiny 6-1/2 to 7-pound calico (that probably says it all) and was lethal to small animals (squirrels, rabbits, rats, snakes, etc.). If she saw or heard a dog coming, she would climb a tree or get up high on something, wait for the dog to pass underneath and then leap down in a furry of claws and teeth. After a while, I did not ever have to worry about stray dogs in my yard and since the cat was never outside without me watching her, dog owners really had no recourse. As far as I can tell, she was protecting me from them. Boy, I miss that cat!
