Our vet is one of the vets on Critter Fixers. The other night, he had to remove a squeaky toy from the stomach of a dog that destroyed its toy. Fortunately, he was able to get everything out, including the squeaker, without surgery. When he finished, he had a pile of toy parts.
My roommate and I used to find stuffed Barney the dinosaur toys at garage sales. We’d bring them home and announce, “Barney, you have been found guilty of being the most annoying creature on the planet and are hereby sentenced to death by dog.” Then throw them to our dogs.
My neighbor’s dog has a huge box of stuffed toys which it brings out to show guests. My pup, on the other hand has a box of rags, rope ends, skinless tennis balls. A $20 toy lasts 20 minutes.

If it’s that obnoxious, foul-tempered bear from “Imagine This?” Five seconds! (If that!)

… and another thing… our toys didn’t have any squeakers in them! Dagnabit. The stuffing seemed to float around in the air much longer back then.
