    You mean… Reality stuffs three little particles into the back seat before dawn…

    and while it emits cigar smoke, makes them travel 100 miles,

    before it pulls off at some random diner and lets them have some cold cereal for breakfast?

    It’s a good description but keep in the back of your mind that the “universe” doesn’t actually “do” that. Physicists “do” that as a way of modeling for our brains what the universe actually “does” do. That makes things less confusing. Or maybe more confusing, I don’t remember.
