Their accumulated hair balls and kitty litter are the major component of dark matter..They become weary of the stress involved with their huge responsibilities, so It’s tradition for them to spend time every few centuries on backward planets like Earth, being pampered and acting self-centered..When they start scratching the furniture, it’s to send messages back that they’re bored with indolence and want to return to the home worlds where they deal with supreme intellectual challenges worthy of feline brain power. .I keep telling people this, but they just laugh.
