I was listening to a Goon Show recording this AM and a running gag was smoking simians and apes. E. g. “Would you like a gorilla?” “No thanks, I’m trying to give them up.” or “No thanks, I prefer monkeys. They’re milder.”

I love the little raised pinkie claw in the last panel. Leo must be rereading his Emily Post. Just bite him, Gary!

As Leopold sees it, an ideal pet for Leopold precisely because it will terrorize and maybe even hurt Gary. Delicious fun!
