“Natural Causes” was undoubtedly the usual explanation for death for hundreds of years because nothing else could be identified. Unless you were shot by an arrow or bullet, were run over by a chariot or wagon, or fell off a mountain or into a pit, you were likely to have succumbed to “Natural Causes”.
Don’t forget life insurance Grog and bills you left behind.
