Watching C-SPAN is another thing I’ve never done.

My wife falls asleep to antiques road show every night.

I understand the season premiere of SNL is soon – I record and watch it then in the afternoon for a quick nap.

Yeah, congress what a snooze.

There was a series on Animal Planet a while ago called “Too Cute”, which followed 3 litters of puppies or kittens from shortly after birth to their adoption. It lived up to its title in every way, but had one major drawback (for me at least)—watching it was so calming and relaxing that it relaxed me right into sleep, causing me to miss some of the cuteness. So I recorded it so I could watch an episode just before going to bed (and rewind it any time I dozed off and missed something.)

C-SPAN was a great idea that was quickly weaponized. Newt Gingrich was a nobody Congress member who realized that he could make speech after speech after speech. No one in Congress cared, but the viewers came to think that he was an important person. After all, he was on C-SPAN every night…

I remember an episode of MASH. col potter kept sleeping pills in his office. When asked wouldn’t be easier to keep them inm your tent? ‘yep, too easy, that’s why i keep ‘em in the office." I remembered that as keep the temptation well away, so if you realyl need it, it’s a quest to get it.

Sorry, but I refuse to accept that the Perfesser — who is notorious for doing nothing at work /but/ sleep — needs sleeping pills.

this strip would be SOOO easy to shift into politics—-but i won’t!

I take a little shot of cough medicine when I can’t sleep. Works good for me.

Just avoid anything from the House.

That should do it!

Don’t mess with sleeping pills. They get really nasty when you wake them up.
