I don’t brake for squirrels. They only run back and get run over anyway. I figure I’m more likely to cause an accident than if I just maintain my speed. I’m pretty sure I will come out ahead by a lot in that contest.
Now deer on the other hand … Bambi kills more humans than any other animal in North America.
I’ve seen some squirrels that seem more streetwise, venturing forth into the road, looking up and seeing oncoming traffic and then turning around. But the one time I ran over a squirrel it was just like this, darting in and out, back and forth several times until it darted in one time too many.
