Rescued from the Nepal earthquake? His outfit, hair etc, don’t look quite right….but the pose could be a Nepali dancer…and they do have drums with handles, so maybe.
My Weimaraner is a rescue and he is my best friend. My parents rescued a 2 year old Great Dane last January and now he is a Therapy Dog for schools and children’s hospitals even libraries. We didn’t even realize the Dane had been abused until after he had been with my parent for a few months. Certain things would just make him cower. If you rolled a newspaper for any reason this 160lb pound dog would throw himself on the floor and cry. Anytime he would exhibit any fearful behavior we would take note and try not to duplicate whatever set him off. Now he feels safe and it really isn’t a problem but we are mindful of his stress.
We have two rescue dogs and three rescue cats. While all have their quirks, we think one of the cats was abused by a man. She won’t have a thing to do with my husband, and is very skittish most of the tie, but rubs all over me.
we had a dog from the pound that we think was abused, afraid of brooms&umbrellas, etc. he was still cuddly. and my friends rescued cat was skittish for a long time but got better somewhat anyway
All our animals have been rescues. Our current dog is a rescue and won’t come to me either. However we know the history of the animal, and there is no reason for it. He goes to other men without issue. I guess he just doesn’t like the way I smell. He also barks at me if I wear a hat.
I Wonder if anyone can shed light on our dog’s odd behavior? Yorkie won’t bark to go out, just stares at me or my wife. Came from a neice who may have walked it only twice a day. Now it can go out at anytime as we have a fenced yard. Suggestions?
