got sprayed by a skunk once when I was a kid, smack in the face! it numbed my nose so bad I couldn’t even smell the little stinker…but all my friends could!
Skunks don’t smell bad unless they spray, or they’re hurt or squashed by a car. Normally they just smell like furry animals. A couple of wild ones used to come visit me, close enough to touch. Mom even let me pet the new baby while she watched. Didn’t make a stink in either sense of the phrase.

I don’t know, all I smell is poop. Are you sure his scent glands aren’t underdeveloped?

The mama skunk named her identical twins “In” and “Out”. How does she tell them apart? In stinks.

Baby skunks do not develop scent glands until they’re a few months old.
